Our tour is designed to immerse you in the natural beauty and rich culture of Portugal’s mountain regions. You’ll explore picturesque villages, hike through stunning landscapes, and connect with the warm and welcoming locals. We aim to provide an authentic and memorable experience.
We’ll begin our journey in Serra da Estrela, Portugal’s highest mountain range. You’ll experience panoramic views from the highest point, Torre. We’ll explore glacial valleys and see unique rock formations.
You’ll have the opportunity to hike through lush forests and discover hidden waterfalls. We’ll visit Manteigas, a charming town nestled in the valley, and learn about the region’s natural history.
Serra da Estrela is a place of breathtaking beauty and natural wonders on your Serra da Estrela and Schist Villages tour.
Next, we’ll explore the Schist Villages, a network of traditional villages built from schist stone. You’ll visit Piodão, a village known for its unique architecture and stunning setting. We’ll walk through the narrow streets and see the traditional houses.
You’ll learn about the history and culture of these villages, which have preserved their traditions for centuries. We will also visit Alvoco da Serra and Cabeça, two more beautiful schist villages.

Any changes made after booking confirmation along the tour will not be refundable, and the resulting costs will be considered extras and paid by the customer.
Our tours are spoken in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
If you must cancel your trip, penalties may apply based on the total trip price.
Cancellation requests must be made by email.
Before you enter into a contract with us, we reserve the right to change any of the facilities or services described in our brochure or website. We also reserve the right to cancel the booking do to weather and/or other conditions. Any changes are usually very minor and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If a major change, such as change in departure time, becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible your tours begins. When a major change or cancellation occurs you will have the choice of accepting the change of arrangements, purchasing another available tour from us, or cancelling your tour. If booking is cancelled we will refund all payments made directly to us in respect of the tour price. We will not refund any personal expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking such as flight payments for land-only tours, travel insurance, equipment purchases, visas, vaccinations etc.
